I bought this product today ( 4 April 2015). Honestly, before I write a review l should mention the audience for whom this review is relevant. This review is applicable to you if you stay in a flat, with single floor (not Duplex) and your WIFI router is in a corner room like a bedroom, perhaps.Before I got this product, I read/watched a number of reviews on the net , ’causea) I had no clue about routers / extenders andb) The price point varies from INR 500 to 15,000 in some cases.But if you are like me, who suffers from signal loss in adjacent rooms, and needs a router for his home, I would suggest the TP link 850 is a great buy for the price of INR 1875/-. I reviewed other routers including some TP link versions like the RE200 (Dual Band AC 750), WA875, NETGEAR EX6200, ASUS RT N-12 , before zeroing on this one.So why did I choose this one and how has it turned out?TP – WA850 RE is one of the cheaper of the versions – Big Pro .It is a single band router (2.4 Ghz) but does the job wellThe installation is very easy – Trust me, I thought it would be very difficult, cause I am not a very Tech savvy person, but it is very easy to install (I used the traditional method of setting up using CAT 5 cable and connecting to the extender admin page). If you have a WPS swtich on your WIFI router, then it is even more easier to install it and takes just 2 mins.This extender, uses the same name (SSID) as your routers, so you will not feel any difference whist moving around the house.Also, for me personally since I use a dual band router ( 5 GHZ and 2.4 GHZ) I can easily distinguish the ACTUAL router signal and the enhancer (extender signal). This extender only operates in the 2.4 ghz range.Excellent reception !I am now getting signal in my other bedroom and balcony also. I can also stream movies and watch YOUTUBE videos anywhere in the house.There is an easy installation guide which comes along with the product. They also give you a CD with a user guide which is quite useless in these days of internet.Cons – So far None.Advice – Don’t waste your money on expensive extenders unless you need them for home office purpose. I had thought about investing another extender called the RE 200 – DUAL BAND AC750 RANGE which is about 3300 INR, but later decided to stick with single band extender because there is no significant advantage between a dual frequency router and single frequency one for a home users. Remember while 5 Ghz has better power output 2.4 GHz has a better range. Also, the dual bands routers, while they are called so, don’t transmit, two separate band, but alternate between the best band available in that location (signal strength of the band)Also, tried to procure Netgear EX 6200 in vain as its is not available in India, yet. it is also expensive at 12 K, but I have heard it is one of the best available in the marketAll in all a good WIFI extender and happy customer.By the way last but not the least …Thank you Amazon the product reached me in one day

Good product Worst after service
Been using this since 2020 never had any problem until we switched to smart WiFi.It keeps restarting to find a stable band.The product itself is very good, extremely good range for single band.But the only problem is their after service. Their customer care is very very poor and I wouldn’t recommend this product to someone who would have issues in figuring out any problems on their own. The agents there are extremely rude.I would give zero star but three just for the product

Acabo de solucionar un problema que tenía desde hacía muchos años. Vivo en el campo, en una casa antigua restaurada, y mi casa tiene los muros de piedra, al tener el router en el salón (junto a la toma del teléfono), la señal wifi no me llegaba a las habitaciones del piso de arriba que están más alejadas del salón. Era una gran faena en muchos aspectos, pero sobre todo por el internet. Los de la Telefónica me dicen que es a consecuencia de los muros tan gordos de piedra que tiene mi casa. Y fueron ellos los que me recomendaron poner un repetidor de señal wifi.El aparato en cuestión lo único que hace es captar la señal y relanzarla con más potencia. Lo tengo puesto a la mitad del pasillo de la planta baja y me funciona, a medio camino entre el router y la “zona de sombra wifi”, dándome cobertura a todas las zonas en las que antes no llegaba la señal.Con este práctico, sencilllo y efectivo repetidor de señal wifi, tengo “cobertura” en toda la casa y a gran velocidad. La verdad es que no sé como he podido estar sin él hasta ahora. Lo recomiendo para todo aquel que necesite llevar la señal wifi lejos del router.La configuración y puesta en marcha del equipo es muy sencilla e intuitiva, y está diseñada a prueba de zoquetes informáticos como yo. Sólo se necesita una toma de corriente eléctrica.El envío fue rapidísimo: 24 horas justas.El funcionamiento es perfecto, y el producto lo recomiendo con creces.Espero que esta opinión te haya sido de ayuda; comprar informado es comprar mucho mejor.

works well especially for the low price – have reviewed a lot of theses WIFI extenders. no matter how low or high the price, they all have the same complaints or praise, so I decided I might as well just buy el cheapo and wa la, it works!!! Now I won’t have to be concerned about wasting a lot of dough for crap

The product works fine and had an easy set up, HOWEVER, I believe this is Amazon’s fault for listing this product on the Amazon Ireland site but dispatched from Germany and had an EU plug, so I had to use a plug adapter – which resulted in the device being angled in a sideways position which the instruction manual clearly says not to do for safety. I really should have looked at the listing more carefully, however Amazon would usually make sellers list out spec requirements especially for electrical items sold in various regions, usually there’d be a proper plug attachment to work in both regions.Do not buy if in Ireland or the UK.
